At Broadlands Cattery, we completely understand that every cat is different, and some need a little extra time, patience and reassurance to feel comfortable 🐾

That's why we always take a calm, gentle and individual approach to helping nervous cats settle into their holiday with us.

Many nervous cats simply need time to observe their surroundings and realise they are safe. We never force interaction and always allow cats to settle at their own pace.

Our chalets are designed to provide:

• Quiet surroundings
• Fresh air and natural light ☀️
• Plenty of opportunity to relax and watch the world go by safely

Some cats settle within minutes… others prefer a slower approach, and that is absolutely fine with us ❤️

Cats are creatures of habit, so keeping familiar routines can make a huge difference.

Where possible, we try to maintain:

• Their normal feeding times 🍽️
• Familiar foods and treats
• Medication routines 💊
• Bedding or toys from home
• Preferred interaction levels

Sometimes even bringing a favourite blanket or item that smells like home can provide enormous reassurance.

Our team closely monitors all cats during their stay, particularly during the first 24–48 hours when nervous cats are adjusting.

We keep a close eye on:

• Eating and drinking
• Toilet habits
• Behaviour and body language
• Stress levels
• General wellbeing

Many nervous cats begin by hiding away quietly, then slowly gain confidence once they realise their new surroundings are safe and predictable 🐱✨

One of the most important things with nervous cats is patience.

Some cats love attention immediately, while others prefer us to simply sit nearby quietly while they build confidence in their own time. We always work around what makes each individual cat feel safest and most comfortable.
